Bottom line: Muah AI is an adult AI companion site with text, voice, photo and video features. The main thing to know before you sign up is that it suffered a reported database breach in October 2024 that exposed user prompts linked to email addresses. We could not find public prices on the site, so check the plan screen inside the chatroom.

The site’s user guide (marked reviewed October 3, 2026) runs to 20 chapters. It covers a Core Prompt for personality, a Look-Like field for generated photos, memory and summaries, character slots, voice and calls, video generation, a music generator, and cloud backups. It also has a chapter on XP and membership, and notes that feature access can differ by account and membership. Compare it with a character-catalogue site like CrushOn AI or a single-companion app like Nomi.

The 2024 data breach
In October 2024, 404 Media reported that a hacker had stolen a large database from Muah.ai. Malwarebytes, summarising that report on October 9, 2024, said the data included users’ chatbot prompts linked to email addresses, many of which appeared to be personal accounts. It also quoted the hacker describing the platform as “a handful of open-source projects duct-taped together”. The site’s administrator said the hack was noticed a week earlier and blamed competitors. Malwarebytes added an update on October 11, 2024 saying the information was reportedly being used in extortion attempts.
Before the breach the site advertised encrypted communication and said it does not sell data to third parties, according to the same Malwarebytes article. We cannot say what has changed since. We found no public security audit.

Privacy policy
The policy at muah.ai/info/pp.php is a general template. It lists name, email, phone, IP address, device data and cookies as collected, says information may be shared with service providers, and promises “reasonable security measures”. It does not name retention periods that we could find. If you try any companion app, use a throwaway email and keep prompts to things you would be comfortable seeing leaked. The same advice applies to Replika, Kindroid and the rest. Our best AI girlfriend apps list and the privacy comparison cover the alternatives.
Who it suits
It suits adults who want a wide feature set (voice, photos, video, music) and accept the privacy trade-off, preferably with an anonymous email. If data security is your first concern, the breach history is a reason to look at other options first.
