What Mozilla found
Mozilla Foundation’s *Privacy Not Included guide, published February 14, 2024, reviewed 11 relationship chatbots and put a warning label on every one. For Romantic AI, reviewed on February 7, 2024, Mozilla reported:
- At least 24,354 data trackers within a minute of using the app, sending data to third parties including Facebook and many advertising companies.
- A privacy policy that says it neither rents nor sells your information, and that lets you delete your data by deleting your profile.
- A terms clause saying anonymous chat data may be used to train its models, with no opt-out.
- A marketing line claiming the app “is here to maintain your MENTAL HEALTH” while the terms say it provides no therapeutic or medical help.

Mozilla said that for around $7 a week you can create your own chatbot or talk to existing characters. That is a 2024 figure. The official site’s /pricing path returns a not-found page and we did not find a current price on the public pages, so check the plan screen before paying and watch whether a weekly term is shown.

Romantic AI publishes its policies at chat.romanticai.com/documents, including a Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, a Cookies Policy and a Content Removal Policy. Mozilla’s reviewers said some wording in the privacy policy and terms did not make sense, and that it was unclear who the “affiliate companies” mentioned for data sharing were.
